Pixar Scientists Are at It Again Response
3 things I learned from this article:
- Many elements in 3D animated movies can have their own physics engine behind them.
- Using parabolas instead of polygons has become industry standard.
- Rendering out complex animations like these aren't as bad as they should be.
2 opinions:
- I don't think super amazing hair physics make a more engaging story.
- I thought I disliked making 3D animation before, now there's no way I'm going into that field.
1 question - How come making new hair physics in animated movies looks amazing, but making a new one for a game ends up looking silly and glitchy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOL-mSTJYH0
